“We have been fighting for the rights of, y’know, women and poor families for years and so we’re just … still doing that. Of course, right now it’s so much more important because you have all these people without health care and… paid leave, and so they’re struggling more than normal.”

Interview highlight:

“We have been fighting for the rights of, y’know, women and poor families for years and so we’re just … still doing that. Of course, right now it’s so much more important because you have all these people without health care and… paid leave, and so they’re struggling more than normal. I’m extremely blessed, I have a home… and my husband and I both still work, but we don’t need to for financial reasons. We do it because we like what we do, and my work with Maryland NOW (National Organization for Women) is unpaid. But just because it’s important to me and it’s – I’m very passionate about trying to make things better for people…. I know how blessed we are to be able to go on living our normal lives, pretty much.”
