Jeremy

Full transcription coming soon. The entire audio interview is available above.

Jeremy is a college student at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland.

“Being together as a family, that helped. That’s been nice. I mean, it was already hard enough that we couldn’t go visit [my grandfather in the hospital]…If [my sister] was still in Oklahoma and I was in Baltimore, that would be really hard . . . I went on a couple bike rides with my dad, bike riding is good y’know, endorphins and all that. We watched some comedy specials, stuff like that.”

Interview highlight:

“The other thing was…  the week my grandpa passed away, I just kinda told all my professors like, ‘I can’t do anything this week.’ I took like two weeks off, not really doing any work . . .  and they were mostly, I mean they were all super cool with it. Some of them said, ‘don’t worry about my class at all,’ some of them said, ‘hey, if you get it done by the end of the semester, that’s okay.’ They were all really understanding about that.

…Just being together as a family, that helped [alleviate bad feelings in general]. That’s been nice. I mean, it was already hard enough that we couldn’t go visit him or anything, so, um at least being all together in the same house, y’know. If [my sister] was still in Oklahoma and I was in Baltimore, that would be really hard . . . that helped. I went on a couple bike rides with my dad, bike riding is good y’know, endorphins and all that. We watched some comedy specials, stuff like that.”
